Estates & moving
Estate and moving rug services.
When a house is being settled or a family is moving, rugs are often the most valuable and the most awkward things in it. We collect, assess, clean, wrap and store them, and return them, or send them on, when the time is right.
Helping families and executors.
Estates
Settling an estate usually means deciding what each rug is, what condition it is in, and where it should go. We visit the house, identify and photograph each piece, and provide a written schedule with a condition summary for every rug. Executors, attorneys and family members then have the same clear record to work from.
From there we can clean and repair rugs before they are divided or sold, prepare documentation for appraisers and insurers, and hold pieces in storage while decisions are made. We are used to working patiently and discreetly with families at a difficult time.

Moving
Moving is one of the riskiest moments in a rug's life. Rugs are folded, stacked, left in trucks and stored in damp or unmonitored spaces, and moths and mildew take advantage.
We collect rugs before the movers arrive, clean them, record their condition, and wrap them for travel or storage, rolled against the pile on tubes, in breathable wrapping rather than plastic. Once the new house is ready, we deliver and lay them, with new padding cut to size where needed, and advise on placement for the new rooms.
If rugs need to be resized for a new home, or wall-to-wall carpet fitted, we can plan that at the same time.
Storage standards.
Storage
Rugs are only accepted into storage clean and moth-treated.
