Wall-to-wall carpet.
Fitted carpet asks for a different kind of care from a rug, but the same patience. We measure, supply and fit new carpet for rooms, halls and stairs, clean and repair carpet already in place, and take away the old floor covering as part of the job.
What the work involves.
The work
A new installation begins with a visit. We measure each room on site, look at the subfloor and the traffic the carpet will take, and talk through fiber and pile: wool for warmth and resilience, blends where a room works harder, loop or cut pile to suit the space. You receive a written quote covering material and labor before anything is ordered.
On the day, the old carpet, pad and tack strip are lifted and taken away, the subfloor is leveled where needed, and new padding is laid. The carpet is power-stretched so it lies flat for years rather than months, seamed where the room demands it, and trimmed so the edges disappear against the baseboard.
Stairs are fitted by hand. Runners are laid with mitered corners on turning stairs and finished edges, held with rods or tacks as the house suits. Area rugs can also be cut from broadloom and bound in cotton, linen or leather tape.
For carpet already in place, we clean on site by hot water extraction, with careful drying, and repair seams, burns, ripples and worn stair treads. Where a section is past saving, we can patch in matched carpet or replace a single room.

Wall-to-wall work is carried out in your home; for any rugs that travel to the studio, pickup and delivery are free.
