Connecticut

Conservators for Connecticut houses.

Fairfield County and shoreline clients send us antique carpets, family rugs, and whole-house wool floors. We collect, treat at the bench, and deliver back.

Care carried out on your doorstep.

Local service

Older Connecticut houses are full of rugs that have stayed in one place for decades, sun-struck along a window wall, compressed under furniture, dusty in the foundation. A full-immersion wash and careful repair usually recovers far more color and pile than owners expect.

For antique pieces we work conservatively: stabilize first, replace only what is lost, and keep every treatment reversible. You receive photographs before and after, plus a written record for insurance or appraisal.

We also handle the practical side, moth remediation after a season in storage, padding replacement, binding, and wall-to-wall installation for principal rooms and stairs.

Where the work is done depends on the piece and what it needs. Cleaning, repair and restoration are carried out at our Williston Park workshop or in your home, and our Greenpoint studio in Brooklyn is there for city clients to bring a piece in and meet us.

Workshop rug cleaning takes about two weeks on average; every rug is different, and any repairs needed will extend that time.

How collection works here.

Pickup and delivery

Connecticut collections are planned as dedicated trips, so we give each house the time it needs rather than fitting it between other stops. Larger houses often have several rugs to go at once, and one visit usually covers them all.

We collect from Greenwich to Fairfield and up into the Ridgefield and New Canaan hills. Rugs travel back to New York with us, insured throughout, and return with a written record of the work.
