Long Island, NY

Conservators for Long Island collections.

Across Nassau and Suffolk Counties we collect rugs, treat them at our Williston Park workshop or in your home, and return them cleaned, stable, and ready for the floor.

Care carried out on your doorstep.

Local service

Long Island houses hold a remarkable amount of textile history, inherited Persian carpets, Caucasian rugs carried over generations, Oushaks bought decades ago for rooms that have since changed. We treat each one on its own terms, starting with a written condition report.

Coastal and seasonal properties bring their own problems: humidity, salt air, moth activity in closed-up rooms, and sun fading along one edge. We wash, remediate, and stabilize with those conditions in mind, and advise on rotation, padding, and storage so the damage does not return.

Everyday work matters just as much. Wool area rugs from busy family rooms, wool-blend stair runners, and wall-to-wall carpet in whole houses are all handled by the same team.

Where the work is done depends on the piece and what it needs. Cleaning, repair and restoration are carried out at our Williston Park workshop or in your home, and our Greenpoint studio in Brooklyn is there for city clients to bring a piece in and meet us.

Workshop rug cleaning takes about two weeks on average; every rug is different, and any repairs needed will extend that time.

How collection works here.

Pickup and delivery

Long Island is our home ground, and most of the island is within a short drive of the Williston Park studio. We plan collection routes by town, which keeps travel sensible and lets us collect across Nassau and Suffolk alike.

For whole-house work, such as several rugs going out before a floor is refinished, we can collect everything in one visit, store the pieces while the work is done, and return them when the house is ready.
