Local service
The North Shore holds some of the finest private rug collections on Long Island. Many of them were assembled generations ago for the large houses of the Gold Coast, and they include antique Persian, Caucasian and Turkish carpets alongside French Aubussons and needlepoints that call for a conservator's patience.
Our approach to these pieces is conservative. We stabilize before we restore, reweave only where something has been lost, and keep every intervention reversible and recorded. The aim is a rug that is sound and handsome, but still unmistakably itself.
For families settling an estate or preparing a house for sale, we can survey every rug in one visit and provide a written schedule, which makes it far easier to decide what should be cleaned, repaired, kept or passed on.
Where the work is done depends on the piece and what it needs. Cleaning, repair and restoration are carried out at our Williston Park workshop or in your home, and our Greenpoint studio in Brooklyn is there for city clients to bring a piece in and meet us.
Workshop rug cleaning takes about two weeks on average; every rug is different, and any repairs needed will extend that time.

Pickup and delivery
The North Shore is a short drive from Williston Park, and we are in its towns most weeks. Many of the houses here have held the same rugs for generations, and a visit often begins with a walk through the rooms to see which pieces need attention first.
For estates and larger houses we can survey every rug in one visit, collect those that need work, and prepare a written schedule so the family has a clear record of what went where.
