Rug care for Queens, between our two studios.

The rugs we see from Queens are as varied as the borough itself: Persian and Afghan carpets brought over by families, Turkish kilims, Chinese deco rugs in Forest Hills Tudors, and good wool rugs laid in apartments in Jackson Heights and Kew Gardens. Each has its own weave, its own dyes and its own way of wearing, and we treat them accordingly.

Cleaning is done by hand, with every color tested before the rug is wet. Repairs, fringes, bindings, moth damage, holes, are made in matched materials so they sit quietly in the design rather than drawing the eye.

Because both studios are close, we can usually offer Queens clients a choice: bring the rug in yourself to whichever is nearer, or have us collect it.

Where the work is done depends on the piece and what it needs. Cleaning, repair and restoration are carried out at our Williston Park workshop or in your home, and our Greenpoint studio in Brooklyn is there for city clients to bring a piece in and meet us.

Workshop rug cleaning takes about two weeks on average; every rug is different, and any repairs needed will extend that time.
